Spring is upon us and everything is blooming, including New Hue Textile Studio. It’s already been a year since Susan left Southern California for Colorado and half a year since Tess packed up her bags to join her and become equal partners of the studio! Colorado Springs has opened its arms and minds to us and we could not be more grateful. The studio has evolved into a working dye lab bustling with classes, collaborations and designs.

We have welcomed two amazing fiber enthusiasts to our team, Celia Palmer and Kelly Volkmar and can’t imagine what our lives were like before meeting them!

Our approach to our own designs have been informed by our new surroundings: the majestic landscape, the diverse community of fiber artists and makers and we cannot set aside how our national and world upheavals impact our design outcomes.

The first designs are all about functional accessories, “The Sense of the Familiar Collection,” of bins, bindles and satchels. Made only of natural fibers, the pieces are hand-dyed, hand-printed with a touch of hand stitching to boot; this collection is human, timeless, multi-functional and let us not forget amusingly beautiful with a touch of much needed whimsy to add to your surroundings and daily routine.

We are still a small production studio and would love to make custom work for you. We look forward to hearing your thoughts about our new collection and thank you for your continued support after our move!
