Inspiration Corner: Maine

Wow Susan, the fabrics you created inspired by Big Sur are stunning! Let's see what you are moved by this week!

I have officially begun my East Coast adventure and my first stop for almost two weeks is the beautiful state of Maine. I have been spending most of my time between the coastal towns of Portland and Rockland. As a first time Maine-visiter, I have been finding myself perpetually awe-struck by the gorgeous architecture, expansive meadows and cool breezes, (yes, even during the summer). The pace is simpler here and allows for introspection. Taking a deep breath, I can step back and notice all the little things; the foliage is beginning to change to those brilliant reds and oranges that signify the cyclicality of life. There are wildflowers growing everywhere and beautiful bodies of water decorating the land. It has already rained a sweet, warm rain this week and the smells off the land were pungent and rich. There really is beauty all around us.

I challenge you Susan to use these colorways and patterns found in nature as inspiration and will follow up next week with more from Maine!
